What We Do
We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, all volunteer organization!
We collect used, not abused, shoes, and soccer balls to distribute to children worldwide - Africa, Haiti, Dominican Republic and the United States. Read a Feed My Starving Children blog featuring a note from me (and some great photos!) about shoes and food arriving in Tanzania. Rich Rosenberg, Chairman Soles for Kids......Soles for Africa February 2020
2,534 shoes to Tanzania – O'Brien School for the Maasai Another amazing welcome for this gift to help protect and make safe journeys for students to and from school from our great donor community in America. Thank you all for your gifts of such good used/usable shoes that arrive on some very needy feet...always free. 2019
We delivered 1,326 pairs of wonderful shoes to Pine Ridge, S.D., Sioux Indian Reservation....free to those who might need a good replacement pair and free for the children going back to school. From Rich Rosenberg, Chairman:The mission of helping others still remains simple and yet profound. What can you do with unwanted but usable shoes? Simple give them to us, take a tax donation, and we will put them on some very deserving and needy feet.............. free. And not in a landfill.
Rich Rosenberg Chairman Soles for Kids......Soles for Africa So it's up to all of us. Simply collect children's shoes that no longer fit or are out of fashion, but still have lots of life, and get them to our collection site at 535 Spring Road in Elmhurst...we 'll do all the rest. Making a difference in the life of a child has never been simpler. |
